Karen’s Calendar & The Auto Zone Connection

Twofer Tuesday so check out the April/May entries in Karen Guy’s calendar that she puts together each year for Guy Distributing.

Here is an irony for you. The Rustler Steak House was located at the corner entry to St. Mary’s Square where an Auto Zone now sits. The Skate Station was located next to where the Sheetz in California is now situated. The irony is – an Auto Zone is now there too! Wonder if Karen knew all that when she placed the The Rustler and Skate Station back-to-back in her calendar?

I keep Karen’s calendar on the counter in Buzzy’s Counter Store. The other day a young man was looking through it and after doing so, asked me “So how come Buzzy’s isn’t in here?” I informed him that Karen had featured Buzzy’s in an earlier year. Here is that entry:

Sales Tax Was Due on the 20th – Hence My Hilite Reminder to Pay It

Guess with all this Auto Zone talk, I gotta play a car song. Here then is Billboard’s staff pick for the Number 1 Greatest Car Song of All Time. Can’t disagree with their pick (below.) Tracy Chapman was #2 with “Fast Car” and the Beach Boys were at #3 with “I Get Around.” Can’t argue with those either. Eazy-E’s “Boyz-N-The-Hood” was #4 and Prince at 5 with “Little Red Corvette.” Now that’s some diversity for you eh? Maybe too much so. Boyz-N-Hood the Number 4 greatest car song of all time? Uh, that would be a no; and to quote Hall & Oates here is their video.
