Memorial Day weekend always serves as the kickoff of “The Season,” that period of time from now to Labor Day. The weather warms up (maybe too much so) the tourists are back (maybe not enough so,) but things do start to get kinda busy.
The County’s tourism group Visit St. Mary’s headed up by Liz Mildenstein, has recently published a Visitors Guide for the County that is worth checking out (click here.)

South County is well represented throughout the Visitor’s Guide. Some examples follow:

Buzzy’s Country Store and our “locals” were also mentioned in the Visitor’s Guide:

Nice weather forecasted for the coming weekend so plan to get out and start celebrating “The Season.”
For some reason or other, Bruce has been in the news alot lately. It sent me looking for his “Glory Days” when I landed upon this great version of it from Jennifer. (Be sure to catch the wink of her eye at the 1:05 mark.) And then stay for her followup tune (2:50) when Ben Harper joins her to do “I’m On Fire.” Don’t know exactly why, but the line that stays with me is at the 3:42 mark where Ben sings “Sometimes it’s like someone took a knife baby edgy and dull and cut a six inch valley through the middle of my skull.” Guess that it stays with me because there are some days when I do feel like that. Hopefully, those days will pass me by too!
