The big news of the day, for me at least, is that Gibson Guitars has launched a world-wide search for the guitar that Michael J. Fox played in the movie Back to the Future. (In case you missed that breaking news (click here.))
The Gibson ES-345 guitar that they are looking for has been missing for 40 some years. After Back to the Future completed filming and was released in 1985, the guitar was returned to Norman’s Rare Guitars store who had loaned it to the movie folks to use for the film. Somewhere along the line, Norman’s sold the guitar and it has been missing ever since. Hence, the Gibson campaign to find it.
