Another flashback for you, today is the day in 1989 that the Chinese dude known as Tank Man single handily stopped the tanks on Tienanmen Square. Here is CBS’ report on it:
As for the young man’s identity and what became of him, no one is quite sure. Through the years there have been various stories and theories about him and his post-standoff years. However, my bet is that his butt was rounded up and tossed into the nearest rice paddy faster than you can say Jimmy Hoffa. End of story.
At the risk of sounding like one of those old geezers who keeps repeating his old stories, this reminds me of when Buzzy and I visited Tianenman Square in 2002 (click here for that previous Buzzyblog post. Note that I had included a video in that post but it is no longer there. Coincidence perhaps?)
