Latest Buzzy Podcast features Pat Guy and Ray Raley discussing memories of growing up in a country store. Chief Larry filmed us doing so on 26 June 2025.
Couple clarifications:
At the 2:13 mark where Ray and I discuss members of the St. Michael’s basketball team, I mention Dudley Stewart, Cricket Dameron, Jimmy Nicoteria and Pat who was Pat Woodburn and not Pat Guy.
At the 3:47 mark, here is that 1957 Guy’s Store(s) ad that appeared in the Enterprise:

Note that the California Guy store was located where Chipolte’s now stands. The Callaway Store was Abell’s Tavern which is still there.
At the 9:55 mark I apologize for my poor choice of words when mentioning “Cueball Raley and that bunch.” In retrospect, a better phraseology would have been “the Cueball Raley family.”
At the 12:00 mark when we discussed other stores that were in the Ridge area, we failed to mention Harry Yost’s Store located across the road from St. Michael’s Church.
At 33:00 Ray discusses his parents’ home that now serves as a vacation rental Creekside Hideway:

Nice little musical video accompanies Ray’s Creekside Hideaway ad:
My thanks to Pat and Ray for sitting down with me to reminisce and talk about what it was like to have grown up in a country store. As always, my thanks to Chief Larry for making all this happen. (Note the neato-spalito headphones that Larry provided us for this episode to ensure that Pat, Ray and I could hear one another!)
