Three or More Boys

Anytime I see or hear something about a couple having three boys, I always think of the following saying:

My next thought is usually “What about the moms who had more than three boys?” Where do they end up in heaven?

It led me to conclude that maybe heaven is like a concert hall or an arena where the moms with the most boys have the better seats. (Not sure where all the dads factor into this 3-or-more-boys business. It made me think of the famous Chris Rock take on this:)

All this came to mind this past Wednesday when Matt and Lauren Brewer dropped into Buzzy’s Country Store on their way to RoDo Beach for their VRBO vacation. Here they are chilling in Buzzy’s with their three sons Beau, Max and Griffin:

Then Thursday morning, I sat down with Pat Guy and Ray Raley to record a Buzzy Podcast to talk about what it was like for the three of us to grow up in a country store environment. Somewhere in our conversation, Pat and his 5 brothers Randy, Bernie, Mike, David and Gary were mentioned. It made think again about the three sons’ quote and wonder just where Pat’s Mom Betty is in heaven having raised 6 boys.

Too, it made me think of the McCoy, Dean and Carroll families whose moms also raised several boys. As far as I know, I think Beth McCoy may be at the top of this list having raised 9 boys. (In deference to Chris Rock, I should point out that the Dad, Fred McCoy had a role in all of this too!)

From a previous Buzzyblog post then here are six of the nine McCoy boys. Sad to say that Freddy, Johnny and Danny are no longer with us.

Not so popup ad for the Buzzy Podcast – the next episode will be posted on You Tube and here on the Buzzyblog for you to check out this Monday morning. As stated above, I had the pleasure to sit down with Pat Guy and Ray Raley to laugh and reminisce about our experiences growing up in a country store. Look for it come Monday.

Guess you can guess what song is coming up: Jimmy’s first hit tune. (Wonder if that’s a country store front porch he’s sitting on as he tells how the video was made.)
