BREAKING NEWS – IT IS HOT IN THE MIDDLE OF SUMMER!
I did a little survey in Buzzy’s Country Store the other day wherein I held back saying hello to folks as they approached the counter and instead waited to see what their initial comment would be.
Sure enough, as I expected, half of my visitors said something along the lines “Man it feels good in here. That heat outside is something else.”
My reply “It’s July. What did you expect?”
Their response “Not this damn hot!”
One of my visitors was from Louisiana and she informed me that they have a saying there “Don’t go outdoors from 11 a.m. until November 15th.”
This particular week has been a brutal one across the country:
But there is some good news. After today, it should start to cool down some. This Heat Risk Index from the WaPO shows it peaking today, but then slackening off starting tomorrow and continuing thru the weekend:

And speaking of hot, the O’s have won 5 straight and play again at 12:35 today. That early start worked out pretty good for them yesterday as they stomped the Blue Jays 16-4. Drop in Buzzy’s later and we’ll have a cool one when they make it 6 in a row!
