When talking to Ryan in yesterday’s Buzzy Podcast, I mentioned re-visiting a couple of country stores in Hawaii. It sent me looking for previous Buzzyblog posts I have done on various stores there and I landed on Harry Fong’s (click here.) Photo Pam took of Ryan and me sitting on a bench in front of Fong’s Store:
This store is located in Keokea, Maui not far from where Ryan lives. When I went looking for additional info on it, I came upon this story of another Keokea country store named Ching’s Convenience Store. It’s owner Florence Ching recently celebrated her 90th birthday with Oprah in attendance. (Oprah has a home in that area too.)
Should I make it til then, wonder if I could ever talk Oprah into visiting me when I celebrate turning 90 at Buzzy’s!
Music-wise, since I mentioned sitting on a bench, check out this great opening scene in Forrest Gump set to the tune “I Am Forrest…Forrest Gump.” Alan Silvestri composed the musical score for the movie. (The soundtrack for the movie contained all of the classic rock and roll tunes.) As for how they filmed the feather doing what it does in this scene (click here for details.)
