Apples, Pork Chops, Chicken and Oysters

Did someone say let’s eat? As Marvin would say “Let’s get the feedbag on.” (OK, I substituted “the feedbag” for “it” but you get the gist of what I am about to discuss.)

This a.m. at St. May’s City:

American Legion’s Pork Chop dinner is later today:

And on Sunday, KoC has some chicken “just dying to meet you:” (We have the case of wine for you at Buzzy’s Country Store; but you are on your own as to securing the Puerto Rican girls. (Click here if you don’t get that reference.))

Also on Sunday, at Pier 450 you can sample Donnie Hammett’s Oyster Cacciatore and talk to him about his many life stories and experiences.

Music-wise, I always try to play this beautiful Steve Irwin tune at least once in the fall here on the Buzzyblog. Listen for Danny playing lead guitar. I have discussed previously how that came to be (click here.)

This may just be my funeral song – not that I’m planning on using it anytime soon – least I hope not anyway. Note that while Steve has some great lyrics worth listening to in his first two verses, if you are pressed for time here, catch Danny’s solo starting @ 3:00 mark. Listen to his great guitar work and stay for Steve’s third verse and outro. In a reflective mood and feeling kind of melancholy, I have even shed a tear or two when listening to that part of the song and Steve’s last verse ” “Will we remember when it was like this my friend? No, never again.” Steve’s yodelling then just seals the deal. (I recall Steve telling me that someone said that he sounded like Johnny Mathis here. Got to agree, but then again I’m a big Mathis fan too!)
