March right into Buzzy’s where we will celebrate special birthdays as follows starting off tomorrow the 2nd with my daughter Ryan’s birthday. Robby Hall’s and Donna Wheatley’s daughter Sheryl McKinnon celebrates on the 4th; Tommy Salvo the 7th; Bob Mann and my nephew Michael Hofmeister the 8th; Terri Yates the 16th; Lindsey Johnston the 19th; my nephew-in-law Ian Allen the 25th; and Steve Pratt on the 31st.

With a tip of the hat to Satchel Paige about not looking back (click here) here is a quick summary of February’s 28 Buzzyblog contents.
Most popular were the 5 Buzzy Podcasts two of which focused on baseball. Other quasi-sports related items involved two posts on Super Bowl commercials and a third one on the half time show. Six posts were date specific as in talking about Buzzy birthdays for the month on the first day of February, my 75th birthday on the 12th, Valentines Day on the 14th, Presidents Day on the 16th, Chinese New Year on the 17th, and Ash Wednesday the 18th.
There was only one post on an old country store and that was a a re-run of one I had done several years ago on Mockey Guy’s Store. I did 3 posts on Pam’s and my trip to San Diego and Hawaii to visit daughters Ryan and Reagan. Current events wise, I snuck one in on Vi Ripken’s abduction in 2012. Historical reference wise, my thanks to Gary Ramey for directing me to the post on the 1904 Great Baltimore Fire. And then I did one on the movie “Sentimental Value.” (Note that I have since re-watched it and enjoyed it even more the second time thru as I was able to better understand the whole movie-in-a movie plotline.)
Catholic school math then, that all adds up to 20 posts with the other 8 being music-related. Notice no posts about politics nor religion. (OK, maybe Ash Wednesday was a little on the preachy side; but since I gave up religion and politics for Lent you will just have to forgive me!)
Looking ahead, the month of March has St. Patrick’s Day on the 17th and MLB Opening Day set for the 26th. There was a time when the NCAA’s Mens Basketball March Madness was a biggie for me but it no longer moves me. That said, I do reserve the right to talk about it some more the closer we get to the tournament. Maybe even do a mini-rant on it. (Notice that there were no Buzzyblog rants in February. Hell to get old and mellow isn’t it?! Then again when you spend half of the month in San Diego and Hawaii as I did, it’s easy to be mellow and rant-less)
Speaking of not being moved anymore, Keith supposedly wrote this tune to and about his life long friend Mick after they had had a falling out. Someone commented about it as being “The best Stones song you will never hear the Rolling Stones perform.” Check out the lyrics below to see why that maybe true.
You made the wrong motion
Drank the wrong potion
You lost the feeling
Not so appealing
Why do you think you got no friends
You drove them around the bend
Oh yeah
You don’t move me anymore
Now you wanna roll the dice
You already crapped out twice
Oh yeah, oh yeah
You just don’t move me anymore
One face so seamy
The other don’t see me
It’s better that you kill the light
You’re giving us all a fright
Oh yeah
You just don’t move me anymore
How you gonna keep your wealth
Can’t even defend yourself
Ah yeah, Ah no
You just don’t move me anymore
What makes you so greedy
What makes you so seedy
No matter how you flip that dime
On our side is time
Oh yeah
It’s no longer funny
It’s bigger than money
You just don’t move me anymore
