I made a quick trip to Marathon, Florida over the weekend to welcome Grandson Shawn back home from his Middle East deployment. He was originally only scheduled to be over there for a six month tour, but he got extended once the Iranian mess started up on 28 February. His squadron was involved in several war-related efforts during their time in Jordan (click here for related story.)
Needless to say, I was very glad when he informed us that he would be coming home Here he is being greeted in Key West by proud Papa Shea last Wednesday:

My travel agent Pam graciously arranged for me to do a quick visit and when I landed in Key West Saturday afternoon Shawn was there to pick me up. I grabbed this photo of us cruising on up Rt. 1.

We then met up with Shea, Steph and Lily at Castaways Restaurant where Emma was working. Thus, I got to see everyone there. Here I am later in the day with Lily chauffeuring me around town:

Here is a Sunday Fathers Day photo of everyone smiling and looking great:

I have more to show and tell you about my 48 hours in Florida, so stay tuned.
Music note here for you. It did not take Chief Larry long to come up with a tune after I showed him this meme Brady had recently sent me:

Here is Chief Larry’s AI-assisted composition containing a Buzzy’s connection. Bet you never thought you would see AI and Buzzy’s in the same sentence much less hear a tune being sung about it!
And speaking of Buzzy’s Country Store, my thanks to Jennifer, Tracey and Karen for keeping the place open and humming while I was away. Like Buzzy always said, “It was good to get away, but it is always great to come back home!”
