Holiday Weekend

Usually the Fourth of July is a one day bing, bang boom affair. However, whenever it falls on a weekend it becomes a multi-day event. Here are some post-holiday red-white-and-blue-tinged leftovers for you.

First up, my guys and gals all dressed up and somewhere to go as in the inaugural 4th of July Tall Timbers Parade:

Thank you Darlene for the following meme. (Great party for Clifton and Robby!)

Pre-4th, two dudes on a bench – not exactly attired in red, white and blue, but close.

Capt. Greg looking like Capt. America:

Attached to a text from my youngest. Thank you and love you Reagan!

Chief Larry with some nice words:

My thanks to my friend Steve Raley for tipping me off as to how good the Capital Fourth was on PBS Friday night. And thanks to YouTube (click here) I was able to watch it in its entirety last night. (All of it was very good, but go to (1:04:15) and catch Chicago doing their thing. Their opening song of course began “Saturday in the park, I think it was the 4th of July.” Very appropriate.

Here was the Capital Fourth’s conclusion with fireworks at Mount Vernon.

Speaking of YouTube videos, we have Pt. 2 of our Buzzy Podcast with Donnie Hammett all queued up and ready for you to view. It will also be featured here on tomorrow’s Buzzyblog.
