Two Groups Two Songs Two Personalities

Twofer Tuesday so lets talk about the Beatles and Stones both of whom have been back in the music news recently. Paul released his new album in May of this year Boys of Dungeon Lane. It included his duet with Ringo on “Home to Us.”

The Stones just released their 25th studio album Foreign Tongues. Paul collaborated on a Foreign Tongues selection Covered in You which I have included below.

However, this wasn’t the first time that Paul has played bass on a Stones’ tune. He did like wise in 2023 on their Hackneyed Diamonds album. Catch Mick at (2:20) saying “Come on Paul let’s hear something.”

As noted, Paul played on a second Stones’ tune Covered in You this time on their latest album Foreign Tongues.

At first, it sounds like just another love-gone-south-song. However, Mick’s second verse takes it to a whole different level. I’ll leave it to you to interpret as you wish, but I think I know what and to whom he is talking about (click here.)

Love the fact that these fellas are all in their 80’s and still playing rock n roll. I just ordered Foreign Tongues. My hope is that it is not the last Stones album I ever buy.
