Some years back I saw an article (click here) that ranked Maryland’s current license tag as one of the top designs among all tags. I never thought about it too much until I overheard Tony Kornheiser on the radio earlier this week discussing the new tag (shown here) that commemorates the War of 1812.
Think I agree with the comment in the following article (click here) that the new tag looks like a cartoon or something a second grader drew up. Bottom line, I think it’s part of Maryland’s plan to make the “regular” tag as ugly as it can so folks will spend the extra $20 and buy the “Bay” tag. (Then again that logic involves some clever thinking by Maryland administrators and I’m not sure they are that smart!)
