Last Friday’s edition of the Enterprise had a fairly good summary of Maryland’s proposal to raise the tax on alcohol click here. However, like other proponents of the bill, the Enterprise portrayed the legislation as the “dime a drink bill.” Not true. If the bill passes as currently proposed, the result would be that per drink costs would rise at least 25 cents or more. Per case and bottle prices would rise $2 to $4. For more info click here.
