OK now that all the happy happy, hot dog 4th of July hoopla is behind us, let’s get back to reality as in cancer, death, shootings etc.. (Bet that you’d never guess that I’m going to be talking about the Beatles.) However, here is a depressing little thought from Chrissie Hynde:

Ringo Starr turns 74 today. Happy birthday to him. However, as the eldest of the Beatles, who would ever have thought that he would still be around while 2 of his 3 younger bandmates are pushing up daisies?
George punched out at 58 from throat cancer. And John got shot when he was only 40 years of age. Re: Chrissie’s “dropping like flies” comment above, when folks roll into their 70’s and 80’s you kind of expect them to move on down the line. But at 58 and 40, you don’t.

But just to leave you on a good note, glad to report that Ringo is still married to Barbara Bach who is “only” 66. You go Ringo!
