Speaking of reflecting (yesterday’s post,) whenever the Ravens play the Colts, as they do today, it always brings up bad memories for me.  In addition to still hurting a little bit that they left Baltimore in 1984, it always makes me mad and sad that the Colts took the name with them too (click here.)  I remember reading somewhere that the main reason that then Colts’ owner Bob Irsay didn’t want to change the name is that he didn’t want to spend money on things like new uniforms, new logo’s, and new letterhead that would ensue with a new team name.  Here’s some trivia though that makes me feel a little better about the whole situation:

And here is the ESPN documentary mentioned above:

As for today’s game, Andrew Luck and the Colts have been on a roll, and with the Ravens’ pass defense as weak as it is, I’m not real optimistic about the Ravens’ chances to win one in the Hoosier Dome.  However, the over for the game is at 48½ points and I got to think that between the two of them they should be able to muster more points than that.  Heck, the Colts may score that many themselves!  By comparison, the Redskins-Seahawks game tomorrow nite has the over at 45½ and I like the over in that one too.   Caveat emptor note however – folks who do this sort of gambling on a serious basis, the so-called “smarties,” generally prefer to bet the under (click here.)   Idiots like me are always drawn to the over because we are suckers and want to see lots of points scored.
P.S. The final scores were Colts 20, Ravens 13 and the Seahawks 27, Redskins 17.  Maybe those smarties knew something after all.
