Saw the movie Selma and thought that it was well done. Learned a lot and agree with the criticisms about LBJ not being depicted very fairly. True, he comes off looking better than does George Wallace but that is not saying much.
Did have one minor problem with the movie however and it is because I am tuned into how country stores are shown in movies. In the crossing the bridge scene in Selma the sheriff and his men are shown waiting on the other side of the bridge with guns and clubs in their hands. They are standing in front of a small grocery store that I took to mean Rednecks R Us. Just felt like the store was being used as background to make a point. I tried unsuccessfully to see if there really was a store there just as one comes off the bridge. If you see the movie though look for the store and see what you think.
