Saturday Night at Buzzy’s

Don’t know if it was the full moon, the nice weather or Kim Wiley’s potato soup, but Saturday night was “be at Buzzy’s night.”  Earlier in the day someone (thank you Linda) had reminded me of Buzzy’s quote “Every night is Saturday night and every Saturday night is New Year’s Eve.”  She proved to be prophetic because that’s exactly what went down at Buzzy’s Saturday night – a hopping party!  Nothing like a full house and a lively crowd to make up for some of those cold wintery nights when not much was happening.

Three out of town couples stopped in the Store on Sunday because they had driven by Saturday night and were curious as to what was going on.  They wanted to check the place out because none of them had stopped in Saturday night because they couldn’t find a parking spot.  (I guess if folks give you that kind of reason for why they don’t visit your business then that’s a problem you can live with.  Reminds me of the time the asphalt guy was trying to talk me into letting him re-pave the parking lot.  To sweeten the deal, he said he would throw in the striping for free.  After I asked him what that entailed he said “You know, I’ll stripe out parking spaces for you so you can get more people in your parking lot.”  I told him I wasn’t sure that my Buzzy friends would know how to act if I had parking spots lined out for them to park in; everyone is so used to parking anywhere they want.)

But back to the Saturday night crowd at Buzzy’s, it led to this Sunday morning update from Cousin Clyde  “There were some partying m____ _____ers in here last night. You couldn’t even move there were so many people.”  As always, I appreciate and thank everyone for dropping in and spending some time at Buzzy’s Country Store.
