| Southern Cross – Although Photo Doesn’t Do It Justice |
“When you see the Southern Cross
for the first time,
You understand now
Why you came this way.
‘Cause the truth you might be runnin’ from
Is so small.
But it’s as big as the promise
The promise of a comin’ day.”
Someone asked me what the highlight of my trip was and with many sights and experiences to choose from, I responded “Seeing the Southern Cross.” Got to confess that Steven Stills helped propel me to this curiosity about and bucket listing of seeing the Southern Cross.
The fiords of southern New Zealand and the Great Barrier Reef along the northern coast of Australia were equally impressive. However, I haven’t heard any great songs written about either of them. And even if there were some songs about them, none would be as good as Stills’ using the Southern Cross as his post-divorce guide.
