Today marks the birthday of Alexander Hamilton. I know, I know – big deal, who the hell cares? At best you’ll probably recall – wasn’t he that fella that got shot in some duel?
Yeah, Ham is sort of the Rodney Dangerfield of our Founding Fathers but here’s a Buzzy reason for liking him: he spent his younger years growing up and working in a country store that his mother owned and operated after his Dad ran off and left them.
Hamilton is still on our $10 bill but again with no respect given to him, there is a movement afoot to replace him with a woman probably Harriet Tubman (click here).
However, he is not completely forgotten as he is now the subject of a sold out Broadway hit musical done rap style. Here is the creator of the show.
