Radio dude announced that David Grohl had recently endorsed Bernie Sanders. “For those of you not old enough to remember,” he noted “Grohl was a member of Nirvana before he started the Foo Fighters.”
This made me feel doubly old because not only did I know that factoid, but I also recalled that I first heard of Nirvana thru my kids. I remember finding, during one of my periodic searches of their rooms, that crazy looking CD cover of the baby swimming and thinking “What the hell is this?”
I then played it and sure enough liked it particularly that lead in to Come As You Are.
All of this was timely because yesterday Kurt Cobain would have celebrated his 49th birthday were he still around to do so.

And in another little Nirvana-related coincidence, I see that Grohl will be performing at next week’s Academy Awards:

Doubt that he will be playing any Nirvana tunes though. (Grohl was raised in Northern Virginia and attributes his early interest in punk music to frequent visits to the 9:30 Club in D.C. Wonder if he ever made it down to Southern Maryland.)
