One evening last week in Buzzy’s Country Store there were seven guys sitting around when someone mentioned ACDC. I played a video of theirs and next thing I knew just about everyone in the Store relayed how a big an ACDC fan they were – owned their records, had seen ’em in concert, and just loved ACDC. Clyde summed it up “I fell asleep every night with those headphones on and ACDC blasting in my ears.” (Someone noted to him “That’s why you’re so loud, you can’t hear.”)
I continued playing several of ACDC’s videos for the guys who all seemed to agree that lead singer Bon Scott marked the heyday of ACDC.

Got to confess, ACDC was never on my list of favorite bands. In fact, I always thought that Bon Scott or not, all of their stuff sounded the same to me. They pretty much did the same song and while it was decent to listen to, they didn’t really motivate me to want to hear more.
Thus as I stood in the Store and my guests were talking about how great ACDC was and how much they had listened to them in their younger days, I realized I was in the minority.

Charlie Simms was also there with the group so I told him “Charlie, these guys were never my cup of tea.” Charlie laughed and said “Then you know darn well they weren’t mine either.”
