Article in Sunday’s Post talked about a local guy driving singer/songwriter PJ Harvey around for a tour of D.C.’s rougher neighborhoods. PJ wrote a song about it and then made a video (below) that begins with the driver’s description of D.C.’s Southeast-Anacostia area.
The Post also ran another article about the choir director who appears towards the end of the video that Harvey released along with the song (click here.)
So here’s what you do – go to and read the linked story (above) and in that story is a link to the driver’s account of him driving PJ around. Once you have digested all that, then watch the video of the song here and see what you think.
The big footnote to all this hoopla is that Walmart has bailed on their plans to put one of their stores in the area being discussed. PJ may need to re-write and update her song with the choir singing at the end “Even Walmart doesn’t want to come here!”
