Linwood’s Customers

From Regina Hammett’s History of St. Mary’s County:

How many of the above businesses do you recognize?

Regarding the Ridge stores mentioned, note that the Harry Raley Store would have been Ross Raley’s Store (Tru Valu today.)  This was not my Grandfather Harry Raley as he did not begin operating his Scotland Store (Buzzy’s) until 1945.  William Longmore ran the store on the corner of Rt.5 and Wynne road before selling it to Brady McKay who then sold it to Mockey Guy.

Other notes – Stanley Raley’s is today’s St. Inigoes General Store.  Charles Bailey’s Store in Tall Timbers is now Dents’ Store.  The Torpedo Test Range Facility is the Harry Lundeberg School.  Hiram Millson’s store in Pearson I have mentioned previously (click here.)
