He had on an Orioles shirt and wore an Orioles hat; she held an Orioles change purse in her hand. Being the observant sort of guy that I am, I deduced that the couple in Buzzy’s Country Store were Orioles’ fans. So we began discussing the O’s.
Turns out that Jeff (Toad) and Linda are from Williamsport, Maryland where they own and operate a restaurant named the Smokin Toad.
When I asked how they managed to get away from the business long enough to visit Southern Maryland, Jeff said something to the effect that it was a long story but that the restaurant was closed for a week. Later, I saw this note on their FB page explaining why they were closed:
Ah yes, another example of the perils of owning a small business. The good news is, the Smokin Toad is back up and running. Now if we just get the Orioles back on track.
Nice to have met you Jeff and Linda and if I am ever up your way, I will drop in to visit you.
