On this day that we spend time with our loved ones, and stuff ourselves silly, let’s pause and think about all the things that we are thankful for. We, who have so much, also tend to take so much for granted: health, family, friends, and freedom just to name a few. I recall a similar conversation with my Cousin Sister Marianne a couple years ago when she noted that just being born and raised and able to live in the United States is a huge blessing that we all take for granted. I’ll go her one step further and say that living in St. Mary’s County and being on or near the water is also a blessing not to be taken lightly nor for granted.
And since this is the Buzzyblog, I am thankful for all of you, my Buzzy friends who continue to stroll into the place and spend some time there. Not a day goes by that I don’t pause and think “The old man would be happy seeing the place still open and running like this.” And for that I too am thankful and grateful to you for all your support and friendship thru the years.
Buzzy’s is closed today but we will be back open tomorrow and putting up Christmas decorations. When you compare the two holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas, don’t you find yourself enjoying one and sorta dreading the other? That we relax and enjoy at least one of them is something else to be thankful for too! So enjoy one of the better days of the year.
Bruce knows what I’m talking about:
