Then Friday afternoon, as the College World Series (CWS) kicked off with a game between Oklahoma and Texas A&M, I texted my friend Darla that we had it on in Buzzy’s and were all rooting for the Sooners. The photo I sent her shows her Grandson John Spikerman batting lead off to start the game.
Darla, who lives in Santa Fe, then posted the following on her FB page and gave Buzzy’s a nice little shout out:
The Sooners defeated Texas A&M Friday and went on to beat Notre Dame yesterday. Since it is a double elimination tournament, the Sooners will next play the winner of tomorrow’s Texas A&M vs Notre Dame game (click here for more info on the CWS brackets.)
On Sunday Kellie Hinkle then posted this nice blurb and photo on her FB page:
Kellie and George’s friends Tina and Jim were here visiting from Tennesee. That Volunteer State connection gives me an excuse to play this nice summertime jam here from that NSYNC fella who was born and raised in Memphis (click here:)
