First Sunday in six months that we do not have any NFL action to look forward to. The NFL’s pre-season started in August of last year and then commenced its regular season in September. Ironically, their opening game last September saw the Lions defeat the then defending Super Bowl champs Kansas City.
Sure seems like a lot of football transpired between then and now; but here we are at this season’s end with KC still the champs. They will be competing again in this year’s opening game come September.
Then there is this NASCAR event scheduled for today although it’s not sounding like the Daytona rain gods are going to permit it. (Note that I was not planning on opening Buzzy’s Country Store tomorrow. However, if there is a Monday race to watch, I may just do so. (Gives you an example of how Buzzy-business decisions are made – no race not open. Race – open.)
I teased the Perry Como Super Bowl tune which someone very informed me that it was for Lindt candy. So given that the Daytona 500 involves cars going round and round here is Perry with that tune. (Gulity pleasure confession, I do kinda like hearing it even if I’ll be humming it the rest of today!)
