I have not done any of those Larry King-like-columns in some time. Just to remind those of you who either have forgotten what I am referring to here or are too young to get the reference, Larry used to write a column for USA Today that consisted of a stream of random thoughts that sometimes made no sense at all but was still an overall fun read. The Onion once did a classic parody of King’s column with the title I Am F’ing Insane.”
However, it was somewhat tough to parody Larry and his work because his original material was already semi-parodiable to begin with. If you google around enough you’ll find some examples of his original efforts. (I even included a sample in a previous Buzzyblog post (click here.)
All that said, here then are some very idle thoughts about some things that have crossed my mind in the last day or two:
County Fair School Day today and no rain is in the forecast. Go figure.
And speaking of weather, is this not the best time of the year to be out and about? Love it!
But hey, if you are out and about driving, you may want to slow down as you go past the Mattapany/Rt. 235 intersection at St. James Deli. They have had more than their share of bad accidents there in the past couple of months. In fact, all of 235 from Hermanville down to Ridge has become a bit hazardous.
Like a Saturday night drunk trying to make his way home, the Orioles’ are now struggling just to make the playoffs. Brady pointed out to me yesterday that ever since the Orioles began wearing those T. Rowe jersey sleeve patches, they have stunk. (For the record, they were 44 – 22 on 11 June when they began wearing the patches, and have gone 41 – 46 since then. I think Brady’s onto something and T. Rowe may just have to go.)
Here is some good news from Pt. Lookout State Park:

Bad news, as in no news – nothing released on when the Pt. Lookout Lighthouse will re-open.
Conversely, Buzzy’s Country Store is open every day except Mondays. Stop in and say hello.
Music-wise Jelly Roll was just announced as the first musical act on SNL’s opening show of the season set for 28 September. Doubt that MGK will join him to perform this tune, but their video here is worth checking out:
