I am not much of a college football fan, but do pay attention enough to see who’s doing what any given week. And lately, the NCAA has been putting some halfway decent games on earlier in the day, so I can tune them in while at Buzzy’s Country Story on any given Saturday afternoon.
Today for example, at noon there is Number 2 ranked Ohio State playing undefeated Indiana ranked #5. Maryland will also see some noontime action as they take on Iowa.
For you gambling connoisseurs, Ohio State playing at home is listed as a 10.5 point favorite which seems a little high to me. You would think 2 playing 5 would be a little closer right? However, full disclosure – I heard one of the talking heads making the case for taking Indy and the points because they have a hot quarterback along with 2 very good rushers and should be able to score on OSU. We will find out starting at noon today.
The Terps meanwhile are listed as 4 underdogs at home to Iowa. Always a sucker for betting home dogs, I got to go with the Terps to at least cover if not win outright. The line opened initially with Maryland as a 7 point underdog so I’m not the only one on the Terp train thinking that they got a decent shot at an upset today.
However, and again full disclosure, you really shouldn’t listen to me when it comes to touting Maryland football. Thru the years I have lost more money betting on Maryland football than I have ever won betting on them. Thus, you may want to give the 4 and stay with the Hoosiers in this one.
