Today, 1:30 pm, gentlemen and ladies, start your engines and get ready to watch “The Daytona 500.” (Haven’t yet heard of any plans to change the name from “Daytona 500” to “The America 500”, but stay tuned because that can’t be far off.)
Whatever it is or isn’t called, The Race will be on the Buzzy 52″ Buzzy Jumbotron for your viewing pleasure. Drop in to root for your favorite driver and/or to wait for the several car crashes that everyone looks forward to when watching NASCAR.
But not to divert your attention from the race itself, the really big NASCAR-related news has to do with Latino rappper Pitbull and Trackhouse Racing splitting up after being partners these last 4 years (click here for that story in case you somehow missed it.) While no details were given for the split between the two, something tells me that money may have been involved. The answer to everything? Money!
The following Pitbull video has its moments particularly at the 2:32 mark when it jumps from black & white to color and goes into a Jessica Rabbit parody/imitation. (Note that Pitbull is scheduled to perform at the pre-Race concert, but I am not sure if that will be televised. If it is, we’ll have that on the Buzzytron also. May be fun to see how a rapper performing at a NASCAR event goes over.)
