As I replaced Bruno’s Presidents Day hat for his St. Paddy’s Day attire, I had to smile thinking that spring is just about here. (Forget all that Equinox stuff, I always consider St. Patrick’s Day on March 17th as the first day of spring.)
However, it did make me think of other “unofficial” signs of spring in my Buzzy orbit. For instance, on the business-side of the house, the first of March is my time to begin ordering seasonal items such as hats, T-shirts, souvenirs, fishing tackle, charcoal, etc..
People-wise it makes me smile whenever I hear statements made by my Buzzy friends and visitors such as;
“Notice how the days are getting longer?” (Kevin.)
“You gonna have a garden this year?” (Cousin Clyde.)
“I need to get my bike ready.” (Brian)
Music-wise, Henry’s followup to his big hit Shannon was this catchy little tune. I remember first hearing it and thinking that it was the Beach Boys, who are another sign of spring!
