The three of them entered Buzzy’s Country Store this past Saturday, and after the elder gentleman saw Buzzy’s old rocking chair he said “Here’s where I want to sit.” He then proceeded to relax in the chair as his daughter purchased a couple of beers and they all kicked back. The Four O’clock Club was in full swing so there was enough commotion going on to keep everyone entertained.
I told the gentleman how I always enjoyed it when someone sat in that chair because originally I had installed it for my Dad Buzzy. (This is the “famous” black rocking chair that my folks gave me in the 70’s (click here.) The gentleman said “At my age, you’re just glad to have any chair to sit in.” After I asked him how old he was, he replied “93.” I then introduced him to Charlie Simms who at 88, is usually the oldest person in Buzzy’s. In fact now that I think about it, 93 might just be the oldest person ever to spend some time in Buzzy’s.

Also in the Store at that time were Joe Salvo’s niece Beth and her husband Drew with their son DJ. Pat Birmingham got this photo above of 2 year old DJ with the gentleman 91 years his senior. I hope the gentleman makes a return visit so I can at least get his name.
