I was saddened to learn that Patsy Stone of Stone’s Store in Budds Creek passed away last week. Patsy, along with Buzzy, was featured in a 2006 Washington Post article “An Era Fades Away by the Side of the Road.” I have included excerpts here from the article where Patsy and her store were discussed, but to read the entire article (click here.) (Note too that I did a previous Buzzyblog post on Patsy and her store (click here.)

As for that 2006 front page Washington Post article, the only problem I had with it involved the headline reading “An Era Fades Away…” To that, I’ll quote Elvis Costello from his Mystery Dance song “Don’t’ bury me cuz I’m not dead yet.”
I then went looking for what I thought was a John Hiatt tune titled Not Fade Away and no, it wasn’t a remake of Buddy Holly’s original. However, when I entered that into the search box here is what popped up. (John sings “Not fade away” in the refrain (1:20) and at the end of the song.)
