Two Tats

Twofer Tuesday and today’s topic involves two recent tattoo’s sighted in the Buzzy galaxy.

My friend Cliff Montgomery has the honor of being the first person that I know of to be sporting a Buzzy-themed tattoo. The story behind his Buzzy-tat has to do with Cliff always being quick to suggest to his fire fighting buddies that they go to Buzzy’s for one. Here then is his tattoo showing just that suggestion:

And just this past Sunday I had a nice couple in Buzzy’s Country Store where they informed me that they were doing research on possible locations for their upcoming wedding. They want to be married in Scotland, Maryland (as opposed to “the other Scotland”) at one of Peggy’s places in Scotland Yards/RoDo Beach. The groom-to-be shown here is from Scotland and has a tattoo in honor of his native homeland. (Note that I did not get his name but his bride-to-be is named Thea. It turned out that Thea and my tenant Karen used to be neighbors in the Ranch Club many years ago. It is a very small world isn’t it?)

Maybe I’ll Have to Get a “Buzzy’s For One & Forever” Tattoo

I suggested that they ride down to Pier 450 for something to eat and meet Peggy to discuss their Scotland-based wedding plans. Hopefully, everything works out for them.

As with anything having to do with tattoo’s, I am always reminded of the Stones’ album “Tattoo You.” In keeping with the twofer theme of the day, Tattoo is a bi-polar kinda album in that Side 1 is comprised of straight ahead rock n roll songs while Side 2 slows things down in bluesy sort of way. Side 2 concludes with one of my Top 5 favorites of theirs “Waiting on A Friend.” Here is the “Tattoo You” track lisiiting

Leading off Side 2 is “Worried About You” which is a tune that runs thru my head whenever someone close to me is either having some serious problems or is not doing well. These problems used to involve crap like going through a divorce, caring for aging parents or dealing with drugged out/ungrateful kids. As I get older however, I find that it now entails worrying about my family’s and close friends’ medical issues. It brings up my take that any problem that can be solved with money is not really a problem.

Listen here how Mick and the boys begin slowly but gradually build their way into a full blown rocker. The guitar solo at the 2:50 mark, although showing Ronnie performing it here, was originally done by Wayne Perkins.
