As promised, here is the Buzzy Podcast Chief Larry and I conducted recently with Charlie Simms. I recommend that as you watch and listen, ensure that the video’s CC button is turned on so you can read the subtitles. Charlie speaks very softly, so it is a little bit of a challenge hearing him. Chief Larry boosted Charlie’s audio as much as possible; but it’s still a little tough hearing him. Hey, he is 98 years old so it is great to be hearing him at all!
I have several previous Buzzyblog posts on Charlie including the following. (If you’d like more info on any of these items just click on the link.)
Charlie and Alan Shepard.
Charlie and the Berlin Airlift.
Charlie and the Ridge Rumble With Mike Hewitt.
Charlie and the Cherokee Election
Charlie and Ted Kennedy
Charlie, Glenn and Pinky Nagel
Charlie and the Native American Museum
Charlie, His Two Brothers and Dad
Charlie and Will Rogers
Music-wise, I have been enjoying watching CNN’s “Live Aid: When Rock and Roll Took On the World” special. Part 2 was shown last night and included Queen’s great performance:
Initially, Bob Geldof wasn’t sure about inviting Freddie and Company to perform (click here.) In a funny bit of irony, Queen on the other hand, was reluctant about accepting the invitation once Bob did get around to inviting them to participate (click here.) As they say, the rest of the story is history.
